Jesus gathers like a mother hen
An excerpt from Luke 13:34b-35 (NRSV)
How often have I desired to gather your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing! See, your house is left to you. And I tell you, you will not see me until the time comes when you say, ‘Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord.’”
Reflection from Dan Nicholas:
I always enjoy the simple messages that Jesus teaches us to lead us down the path right back to him. It’s as if he’s giving us a map for future use that we can reference if we ever get lost. Just look for mother hen! See, it’s quite easy.
