Jesus Says: Chill
This Sunday’s gospel takes us back to the Last Supper, when Jesus overwhelms his disciples with so much that he wants to teach them before his death. One of the things he says: “Do not let your hearts be troubled.”
You know, just chill.
Easier said than done. I don’t know about you, but I can’t just switch off my anxiety and fear! I imagine the disciples had similar thoughts that night.
But does that mean we’re stuck with troubled hearts? Is being fearful and anxious mean I lack faith? What do we really need in order for our hearts not to be troubled in the face of trouble?
