Exercises of Power

Believe it or not, the authors of scripture in both the Old and New Testaments could be pretty skeptical about rigid hierarchy and centralized authority. Moses needed help. The apostles needed help.

Even Jesus himself needed help.

At a time when the exercise of power is happening in increasingly fraught and top-down ways all around us, the readings for Pentecost paint a picture of collaborative leadership that calls each of us to claim our roles and lean into relationally.
