Circle of Grace – The Victims

Have you ever been told to “stop your crying,” “just suck it up,” or “get over it already”? These are often the voices we hear when our suffering is an inconvenience to others.

We go deeper with the story of Mary and Martha, and the death of their brother Lazarus. Mary and Martha represent The Victims: anyone whose suffering throws a wrench into the plans, ideologies, and assumptions of others. Often, their suffering is minimized, erased, or even used against them.

What does Jesus show us about how to break that cycle of judgment so that we can better radiate God’s grace?
