Cecilia Rodrigues

I’m delighted to work with the warm and welcoming community of St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church! People are the most important part of any place, and I am honored to serve our parish and help bring us even closer together.

Growing up, I was part of the Catholic and Methodist churches and  joined the Episcopal church in 1986. My family and I have moved several times, so when we came to Deerfield, Illinois in 2014, I knew I wanted to find a church to call home. Enter St. Gregory’s, an incredibly vibrant and loving community! I have cherished these past ten years and getting to know the wonderful people who worship here.

I am dedicated to both the organization of our church and the voices  of everyone here. I strongly believe in both broad inclusion and  attention to detail: planning events to practice our faith, engaging in financial decisions, and welcoming new members to our parish. St. Gregory’s is like a big family—and just like any family, sometimes we have tough spots and disagreements. leaning on my Human Resources expertise, I am here to listen and mediate as we work through our struggles together, becoming even more patient and loving Episcopalians in the process.

No matter what conversations we have, I believe we can build each other up. I’m always excited to say hello and catch up with you after our Sunday morning services! I also speak both English and Spanish, so I’m happy to communicate with you in whichever language is your first.

In my free time, I love quilting colorful creations, as well as exploring other forms of sewing! I also enjoy crafting, painting, reading, cooking, and playing sports like tennis and pickleball. As a fan of storytelling and a music major, I adore both classical operas and modern Broadway musicals, and I’m passionate about singing and playing piano! At the end of the day, I go home and relax with my husband Jose and my kids, Celeste and Gabriella ( when they are home from college.) We all enjoy eating dinner together, doing arts and crafts, watching movies, and going on walks with our cute (but choosy!) dog Sasha.
