Spellbound by Jesus
An excerpt from Mark 11:18-19 (NRSV):
And when the chief priests and the scribes heard it, they kept looking for a way to kill him; for they were afraid of him, because the whole crowd was spellbound by his teaching. And when evening came, Jesus and his disciples went out of the city.
Reflection from Dan Nicholas:
Have you ever felt threatened by another person? It could be a bully trying to take advantage of a situation or a coworker that may have a hidden agenda for their own benefit. Jesus cares about how we respond in these situations, as his way of life is to always love your neighbor as yourself. Think about turning the situation around and helping those that may have threatened you. Maybe there is something you can offer to help ease the tension. In an extreme situation, get out of town like Jesus did!
