New World is Coming
An excerpt from 2 Peter 3:8-13 (NRSV)
But, in accordance with his promise, we wait for new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness is at home.
Reflection from Suzanne Francis
There have been times over the past few years, but especially this year, that I have lost hope for the world. Families have split, friendships have been lost. Will this ripped world ever heal? Would God come down and say “You wicked people! I am done!”? I am glad I chose this reading. I read the entire selection. We will be healed, we will love one another and be saved in his love. God is patient – “with the Lord one day is a thousand years and a thousand years one day”.When we are ready, God will come and fulfill his promise. Just believe!
For further study and prayer, the readings assigned for today are:
Psalm 148; Proverbs 9:1-12; 2 Peter 3:8-13
Ellie Stadelmann’s painting of a Moonscape.
