In God’s presence
An excerpt from Psalm 84:10 (NRSV):
For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than live in the tents of wickedness.
Reflection from Max Smith:
How often when presented with the choice of prayer or Netflix, do I choose Netflix? Or the myriad of other ‘tents of wickedness’, i.e. diversions I choose over consciously connecting to God? As Augustine prayed: please God make me willing to be willing…to choose time with YOU, to choose attending to my neighbor, to choose fully to live in and with Christ – and become your doorkeeper.
