Healing
An excerpt from Ezekiel 36:24-28 (NRSV)
A new heart I will give you, and a new spirit I will put within you; and I will remove from your body the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
Reflection from Shelley Byrnes:
When I am weighed down by a heart of stone (from worry or anger or grief) it is such a hopeful thing to remember that this is a temporary thing! God will give me a new spirit. Sometimes I need to wallow in the stone heart for a short time. But in the end, if I allow God to fill me up, I have a new heart full of love and able to give to others!

Traditional folk song, arr. Mack Wilberg
“Let Thy goodness, like a fetter, bind my
wand’ring heart to Thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to
leave the God I love;
Here’s my heart, O take and seal it; seal it
for Thy courts above.”
