Protection
An excerpt from Exodus 12:21-27 (NRSV)
...the Lord will passover that door and will not allow the destroyer to enter your house and strike you down.
Reflection from Rich Milburn,
St Simon’s Episcopal Church:
Ever since God made the covenant with Noah to not destroy the people in the future, and a second covenant with Abraham to favor his family, granting them land in Canaan, God continued to show favor to the people of Israel. God’s freeing Israel from slavery in Egypt is a part of the continuing story of God’s active hand in assuring the safety and well-being of the people of Israel.
In those days God interacted closely with his people. We can interact closely with God by asking him for his guidance in our lives.
