We are taking steps to prepare to welcome a refugee family with our partner congregations, and the following things are available for you to participate!
Rectory cleanup day - this Saturday starting at 10am - 411 Laurel Ave, Highland Park
We will house the family in the Trinity Rectory until permanent housing can be secured. To prepare for their arrival, everyone is invited to come help clean the house. Lunch will be provided.
Donate household goods
We need lots of things to welcome the family to their new home. You can donate new or gently used items by:
Signing up on the Signup Genius list: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0e4fa5a82caaffc...
Purchasing items on the Amazon wish list: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/31RDVW6SO9OV...
Items can be brought to StGs, or delivered to the Trinity Rectory on May 7th or 21st.
Episcopal Migration Ministries (EMM) recommends that sponsoring communities raise about $2,300 per family member, depending on the cost of living in the area. Given our location, our team has determined that $3,000 per family member is a better number. All monies donated will benefit the work with the current family; remaining funds will be applied either to welcoming another family (if our churches feel called to do so), or to other refugee resettlement ministries.
