The Annunciation – Responding to God’s call
An excerpt from Luke 1:38 (NRSV)
Mary said, “Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word.”
Reflection from Ann Duggan,
Trinity Episcopal Church:
Reading this passage reminds me that I cannot control everything that happens in my life and I need to trust in God’s plan for me. This is especially true when I feel lost or unsteady whether it’s the stress of raising three teenagers, the health of myself and loved ones, or the world’s brokenness full of violence, disparity, and pandemic. Reciting the “Hail Mary” always brings a sense of calm to me.
