Proclaiming Christ’s miracles
An excerpt from Luke 7:21-23 (NRSV)
Jesus had just then cured many people of diseases, plagues, and evil spirits, and had given sight to many who were blind. And he answered them, “Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have good news brought to them. And blessed is anyone who takes no offense at me.”
Reflection from Sudi Johnson:
Go and tell. Jesus spells out clearly what the good news of his healing power and divinity will mean. Lives will be changed for the better – and the dead will be raised. But quite simply – first someonehas to go and tell – someone (Jesus has you and me in mind, I think) has to step out and bravely tell a stranger, the ‘other’or a dear friend what your experience has been as a follower of Jesus. With God’s help, we can do this.
