Annual Giving Campaign 2023

Dear Parishioners,

Our core values of sharing joy and hope, feeding people, and facilitating community through our God-given traits of adaptability, visibility, and vitality provide us depth and grace to continue on in a time of transition. The leadership team of StGs (Wardens, Vestry, and Staff) remain committed to using our gifts to engage more deeply in our Better Together partnership, serve and care for the marginalized, and continue to reach out to people in the community and online with the good news of Jesus Christ.

In October we sent a parish letter providing an update on our financial situation. We noted that we have been operating with a deficit that has increased throughout the year.Due to the market downturn, we don’t have the money in our investment accounts to continue to cover it. We want to continue in conversation with you so we can be as transparent as possible.

Thank you for your support of StGs in 2022, and if you haven’t yet completed your contribution, please do so as you are able through December 31st. In addition, we encourage you to prayerfully consider what you can give to God’s work at StGs in 2023. Your financial commitment to our annual operating budget supports our daily parish life & enables us to continue to be God’s hands in the world.Giving is an act of spiritual discipline, guided by our love of God and gratitude for the abundance that God gives us. When you let us know an amount you intend to give, it is both an act of commitment to your discipline, and also a courtesy to our financial team so that we can, in good faith, continue to plan how to serve.

Please fill out this form below to let us know what financial commitment you can make to StGs in 2023. Without strong commitment from our StGs community, our budget will need to look very different in 2023. We appreciate your quick response as your pledge is instrumental to finalize the budget and plan.We plan to approve a final version at the January 10, 2023 vestry meeting.

In January we plan to discuss a capital campaign as we need to retire our debt from a previous renovation and have many other capital needs on our campus. Together, we will continue to thrive.

In Peace and Harmony,

Susan Hitch-Zint & Jim Millspaugh

Service Times

Onsite AND Online worship - at the same time, at 9:30am starting in Advent!

God willing and supply chains cooperating, technology accessibility will be installed in our worship space in time for us to incorporate all of our worship into one service on Sunday mornings. The new cameras, sound system, and screen will allow our zoom worshippers to continue to participate and lead worship, and our onsite worshippers to see them and share in the sacred space together.

The new time (9:30am Central time) takes into account the desires and needs of the diverse part of the body of Christ that comes together as StGs Sunday worship community. We will try this time out for a season or two and see how it settles into our rhythm of life.

Welcome to St. Gregory's – virtually! We know that the church is not the building in which we worship – but the people who worship and share God’s love with the world. In this time of social distancing, we will practice connectivity in new and powerful ways, for we know we all are connected as one in the Lord. Life is very different than we knew it to be, and yet our anchor in God’s love remains the same. All shall be well!

We are people from all walks of life and all parts of Chicagoland. Most people who worship here didn’t grow up Episcopalian, but seek to radiate God’s grace by gathering community and sharing joy and hope in the world. Join us however works for you: participate in Zoom worship, follow our livestream, help us give to the community, read with our kids, or even be a pen pal to get to know someone new.

Online Worship

Everyone is experiencing the Pandemic in different ways. Many people are experiencing deeper loss than they ever have before, and we are here to support them during this time. If you are experiencing loss and grief, we are here to pray with you, talk with you, and help financially.

The Body of Christ exists to care for each other. Sometimes we can be generous, and sometimes we receive generosity. Both are equal acts of faith and grace, and one cannot exist without the other.
