Christian Education at St. Gregory's Church
- Provides exciting and relevant classroom experiences for children and young adults (ages 3 through high school) on Sunday mornings (10:10 to 10:50 AM), September through June. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd takes place in our Atrium I for ages 3-6, with Atrium II for children 7-9. Fourth and Fifth graders, as well as Junior High and High School students also have weekly church school with curricula relevant to their respective ages. These programs are coordinated by a Director of Christian Education and taught by our own parishioners. Current enrollment exceeds 120 children.
Youth Ministry
- The parish supports a full-time youth pastor who directs formation programs for older youth, including junior and senior high school youth groups. These groups meet weekly at the church and also include service projects, a bi-annual mission trip, and a bi-annual summer youth trip.
Vacation Bible Camp
- Each August St. Gregory’s offers a vacation bible school/camp for children in the community, ages four years through 5th grade. This year’s program was sponsored jointly with Christ United Methodist Church and Zion Lutheran year here on our campus. Staff included volunteer adult members of each congregation as well as staff from the participating parishes and high school volunteers
Keeping God's Children Safe
- Every adult working with children at St. Gregory’s Church participates in the abuse prevention training program of the Episcopal Church. St. Gregory’s Church is one of the churches in the Diocese of Chicago that offers this training program on site.
