Ministry in Our Community

Boy Scout Troop 50

  • St Gregory’s has supported this boy scout troop for 50 years and a number of our own youth have participated. Eagle scouts have undertaken a number of service projects for the church.

 Career Renewal

  • Career Renewal Ministry supports and assists individuals who have become unemployed, are seeking employment for the first time or are re-entering the job market after a significant absence. The Career Renewal Ministry was formed in 1986 by members of St. Gregory's Episcopal Church and Holy Cross Catholic Church in Deerfield. Since that time, the ministry has worked with over 500 participants, assisting many directly or indirectly in their career searches. Visit the Career Renewal website or contact Woody Lovacheff at 847-948-8083 for more information.

Community Meals

  • We participate with other churches in preparing and serving food to the homeless in Waukgegan.

Lake County United

  • St. Gregory's Church is a member organization of Lake County United, a non-profit, non-partisan, broad based community organization of civil society institutions working for a just society through active citizenship, building relationships across Lake County, identifying community concerns and needs and working together as a united power for human dignity, social justice and the greater good.

Parents. The Anti-Drug

  • Parents. The Anti-Drug. is a community based organization of parents, local government and school officials, clergy and health providers whose mission is to generate conversation and provide accurate information about alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use in Bannockburn, Deerfield, Highland Park, Highwood, and Riverwoods. Our rector, The Rev. Bill Roberts serves on the board of this organization.

Support our Troops

  • Our Ministry to  "support the troops" began in 2005. Every 6 - 8 weeks we meet to pack care packages to deployed troops. We mail approximately 150 packages at each event. Our packages are filled with donated items received from parishioners and the community. Mailing expenses for these packages come from funds donated by church members and community supporters. For additional information and a list of suggested items contact troops@stgregoryschurch.org. We pray at each of our worship services for all our Service members and a large number of those known to us. If you would like a family member or loved one serving in our armed forces to be prayed for, please contact us at troops@stgregoryschurch.org.

Twelve Step Programs

  • A number of twelve step programs, including Alcoholics Anonymous(AA), Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACoA), and Al-Anon meet at the church throughout the week.  Consult our calendar for the weekly schedule of meetings.
